Frequently asked questions

A tariff (also known as an import duty or customs duty) is a tax imposed by a country on imported products. This makes imported goods more expensive compared to competing products. Buyers (i.e. importers) are typically responsible for paying tariffs at the time the goods are imported. However, the exact responsibility is defined by the Incoterms that apply to the contract between the exporter and importer. Find more answers to frequently asked questions about tariffs.
